Why Do Basements Leak?
Most basements will leak at some point. These are the usual reasons.
Cracks in the foundation
Water finds its way through cracks in the wall. Watch for damp spots, white chalky powder or brown stains. Crack injection seals it from the inside.
Water pushing up from below
When the ground gets soaked, water pushes up under the floor and comes in where the wall meets the footing. Interior drainage tile with Delta membrane, tied into a sump pump, takes care of it.
Window wells filling up
Basement windows sit right at ground level. Rain, snow and leaves collect in the well and the water leaks in around the window. A custom window well cover stops it.
